So as I've mentioned in comments here and there, I'm working on my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. What I haven't mentioned is that my research is going terribly, and I'm in a state of constant panic, because I'm supposed to defend this year. It's bad, it's awful, I cry a lot, but I'll survive.
My advisor called the lab this morning to tell me that I (well, we; but I was first author) won a best paper award for a conference we attended last fall! AHHHHHH! It's "just" a small regional conference, but I'm still pretty stoked because (a) my advisor did minimal editing on this paper, and (b) this isn't just a best student paper - it's best paper overall. WHAT WHAT!
Okay, I'm done bragging now. I'm just really excited. And I obviously spent a few minutes updating my CV already, because YAY!
